Sept Update—Isle of Redsky Redux

Sept Update—Isle of Redsky Redux

The Isle of Redsky is certainly special to us here at Vestibule Press... it was the first adventure we lead with for our early access releases. Which is why it's been such a joy to revisit it. This month we've been focused on playtesting and perfecting it, and have locked in some big updates ahead of its official release.

We actually have two of our campaigns—our local Los Angeles IRL group, as well as our NYC remote crew—who are currently dungeon crawling their way through it. It's been awesome seeing how differently the two groups have approached the island, and has really helped us hone in on making its gameplay and narrative more flexible, challenging, and dramatic.

Be on the lookout for a few more balancing tweaks as we finalize the print edition. As always, if you have any feedback for this adventure, please reach out in the Discord, we'd love to hear from you.

Some SPOILERS below:
(advert your eyes potential players!)

-Added a new area extending out from the Landing Cove, with some additional environmental storytelling points of interest, as well as pathway that allows athletic characters a way to scale up to the Isle Acropolis.

-Reworked the origin story so that the reason Lady Craydea chose to roost at Isle of Redsky in the first place was to lay a clutch of wyrmling eggs (congrats mom!). These hatchlings can be added to the boss encounter for an additional challenge, and presents a conundrum of what to do with any unhatched eggs.

-Additionally, we've given Lady Craydea and her wyrmlings unique stat blocks, presented with new lore as "Sea Dragons." We've even given her some unique legendary actions to really dial in the feeling of an epic boss encounter.

-Tano The Lost has become a crowd-favorite NPC, and we've been having heated debates about who would be cast to play him in the Hollywood adaptation of Eolay. We've expanded on him a little bit, giving him some canned lines to sing, as well as more of a role to play in the adventure.
