Feb Rollup — Tomb of Arathenkor is Getting Spooky

We are stoked to report that production of our second module, Tomb of Arathenkor is well underway. We are halfway through playtesting the latest version of it with our local play group here in Los Angeles, and are having a blast terrifying the players and dialing in the spookiness.

Here's a sample:

"A thousand and a half years ago, white ash fell like snow upon the ruined island of Eolay. As the first smoky rays of light broke through the dark clouds in the aftermath of the eruption, it became clear to the few survivors that the magnificent civilization of the Temple People would soon lay buried beneath a layer of lava and pumice. So too lost were the dark secrets that preceded this calamity.

In the present day, a new field of study has captivated the academic circles of the
Circeneum Institute surrounding the lost civilization. Based on some surprising archaeological discoveries, it became apparent that the Institute’s renowned library was built upon the foundations of an expansive ancient complex from this era. With each new excavation, more and more artifacts are unearthed, shedding light on this ancient culture. Curator Mantefon—a newly tenured member of the Institute’s faculty—has begun curating a small gallery of artifacts and curiosities, but seeks the help of some sturdy adventurers to follow up on an enticing new lead."

We have a near final draft, and are beginning to typeset it. We already have the primary dungeon maps for it finished, and are putting together a list of assets we need in terms of the art. If all goes well, we are aiming to have a pre-release version of it out by the end of March. Make sure you're subscribed to the newsletter for any updates.

Till then, be wary of the shadows,
